Bull Market, Fed Watch & the Israel-Iran Conflict
Welcome to this week’s Market Commentary with RFG Advisory’s Chief Investment Officer, Rick Wedell!
From conflict in the Middle East to consumer sentiment at home, the markets saw some movement this weekend. The S&P 500 is sitting at about 6,047, marking a 3% YTD gain and a 21% jump since April’s lows, officially moving out of bear territory and into a bull market.
Regarding the Israel-Iran conflict, Rick offers a calm perspective: Geopolitical drama doesn’t always rattle markets—unless it hits the global economy where it hurts, like oil. So far, Israel’s staying clear of Iran’s oil infrastructure, keeping that risk in check.
Meanwhile, consumer sentiment is ticking upward, driven by easing inflation concerns. Despite early tariff fears, inflation data hasn’t shown any major spikes. Looking ahead, all eyes are on the Federal Reserve’s upcoming Wednesday meeting, with inflation, sentiment, and global tensions all in the mix.
Curious about what else is shaping the market? Watch Rick’s full Market Commentary to learn more!
