About the Role:
Every paycheck is a promise. At RFG Advisory, you will be the person who keeps it.
We are building the RIA of the Future, and a team of around 150 people across 24 states depends on payroll that is accurate, on time, and handled with care. As our Payroll Administrator, you will own that process from start to finish. You will also help power the employment services that support the teams of the independent Advisors we serve, and you will partner with Finance, so every detail adds up.

What You’ll Own
Payroll
• Run multi-state payroll end to end in BambooHR, including earnings, deductions, taxes, reimbursements, and adjustments
• Set up and maintain state payroll tax accounts across our multi-state footprint
• Reconcile payroll data, resolve discrepancies, and support year-end reporting, including W-2 preparation
Benefits Deduction Accuracy and Carrier Audits
• Audit carrier invoices to confirm that coverage and payroll deductions align
• Ensure benefit deductions and employer contributions are accurate and uploaded correctly
• Export payroll data and import deductions, contributions, and enrollment information into carrier platforms
• Maintain data accuracy across Employee Navigator, BambooHR, and carrier systems
• Upload 401(k) deferral information after each payroll cycle
Finance and Advisor Support
• Partner with Finance to confirm that Advisor partners are billed accurately for the payroll, benefits, and employment services RFG provides
Compliance and Process
• Support ACA, Form 5500, cafeteria plan, workers compensation, and retirement plan compliance
• Keep payroll records audit-ready, including benefit deductions
• Document and improve processes so work is repeatable and easy to hand off
Who You Will Work With:
• HR Operations Specialist: verifies payroll and leads employee-facing benefits support, including questions, issues, and plan design alongside the VP of HR
• Benefits broker: manages carrier relationships
• Finance: Advisor billing and reporting
• VP of HR: your direct manager
How Success Is Measured
• Payroll is accurate, on time, and compliant every cycle
• Carrier invoices and payroll deductions reconcile cleanly
• Advisor billing aligns with the services provided
• Records are audit-ready, and processes are documented
Required:
• 3 or more years of hands-on payroll experience, including independently running full-cycle, multi-state payroll
• Experience setting up and managing state payroll tax accounts
• Experience reconciling benefit deductions and auditing carrier invoices
• Comfort exporting and importing data between payroll, HRIS, and carrier systems
• Discretion with confidential employee information
Preferred:
• Experience in an organization with fewer than 500 employees
• BambooHR and Employee Navigator experience
• Experience with PEO, co-employment, or multi-entity payroll
• Familiarity with ACA, Form 5500, and cafeteria plan compliance

Salary: $68,000 - $70,000
